princeton-review-2019-best-384-book-coverThis afternoon, the publisher released the 2019 edition of its book, "." Bellarmine's inclusion in the book once again places it among the top 13 percent of the nation's four-year colleges and universities.

"The Princeton Review's profile of Bellarmine in their 'best colleges' book is valuable because it focuses on survey feedback they received from our students and most recent graduates," said Dr. Susan M. Donovan, Bellarmine's president. "It's clear from those surveys that our students appreciate the outstanding quality of our professors and the individualized attention they offer students, thanks to our small class sizes. They also emphasize the vibrancy of campus life at Bellarmine, along with the social and recreational opportunities available in the great parks and neighborhoods that surround our campus."

Bellarmine's two-page profile in the book is drawn in part from that survey of the university's students. In all, The Princeton Review surveyed more than 138,000 students at colleges across the nation.

Among Bellarmine's highlights, according to comments from our students:
  • A "superb teaching staff" of "insightful and dedicated鈥 professors" who "want their students to pass their class with as much knowledge as possible."
  • Most professors "even provide their personal cell phones to students on their syllabi."
  • Bellarmine's career readiness programs "really [establish] an ability to grow closer to future employers" and teachers even 鈥渉elp you find internships and jobs."
  • Campus life offers "a niche, club or activity for everyone."
  • The school is "welcoming to every single person and makes an effort to include everyone. I can鈥檛 say I鈥檝e ever met a stranger."
"We picked the 384 best colleges for our book primarily for their outstanding academics," said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's editor-in-chief and the book's lead author.

According to the publisher, the annual guide of best colleges - first published in 1992 - is intended to help prospective students and their families find schools that fit academically, socially and financially.
