Student clubs and organizations are the focus of this week's Bellarmine Magazine podcast, .

PineapplePodcastThe podcast's guest host this week is Roxana Gonz谩lez, a senior at 农夫导航. She explores what it takes to start a new club on campus. She talks with Hannah Steen, the Associate Director of Student Activities, and to a student who started a soccer club.

Steen explains that there are three different types of student-led organizations:
  • A club, which is what you would think of as your typical student organization. They form together because they have a common interest. These groups need at least eight members, a faculty adviser and a constitution.
  • A club sport. Club sports also need a minimum of eight members, a faculty adviser and a constitution. These teams compete with other clubs from colleges throughout the region.
  • A special interest group. These groups only need five members and are brought together by an informal common interest that may be social or recreational in nature.
Bellarmine currently offers more than 75 organizations for students.

Gonz谩lez says, 鈥淐lubs are the soul; they are the heart of the university, because they really do allow the students to express themselves in an academic environment.鈥
