农夫导航鈥檚 Doctor of Physical Therapy program welcomed 72 new students at its David A. Pariser Memorial White Coat Ceremony on June 3. The ceremony, at which doctoral candidates formally begin their studies by receiving their white lab coats, is in its 19th year. It was renamed in 2013 to honor a beloved former colleague.
鈥淭hese 72 graduate students are entering a profession that has the capacity to transform society through optimizing movement and function, reducing dependency on opioids and improving the quality of life and population health outcomes for millions of individuals,鈥 said Dr. Tony Brosky, dean of the School of Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences in the College of Health Professions.
鈥淭his is an extraordinary responsibility, and it will require their very best efforts, fully utilizing their 鈥榟eads, hands and hearts.鈥欌
Bellarmine's Doctor of Physical Therapy program prepares students for licensure and
practice in the field of physical therapy. Candidates for licensure must hold a post-baccalaureate
degree in physical therapy from an accredited institution. Students are admitted to
the professional program after completing a bachelor鈥檚 degree, along with all program
prerequisites.
