The and 农夫导航鈥檚 Veritas Society are teaming up to offer the community two opportunities to meet one of Kentucky鈥檚 preeminent artists, , and learn more about his life and artistry.
Hamilton, a lifelong Louisvillian specializing in public art, has been commissioned to produce bronze sculptures in numerous cities, as well as locally, including the Lincoln Memorial at Waterfront Park and the sculpture of York on the Belvedere.
The public is invited to an event March 22 at the Frazier History Museum, an intimate gathering of friends, family and special guests where Hamilton will talk about his life, growing up on Walnut Street in the historic Black business district downtown, and the factors that shaped his artistry. His wife Bernadette Hamilton, their daughter Kendra Hamilton-Wynn and other special guests will also speak about Hamilton鈥檚 impact on our community and beyond. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event includes one free drink and light hors d'oeuvres. The second event will kick off the Veritas Society Lecture Series at 7 p.m. on March 24 in Bellarmine鈥檚 George G. Brown Center, Frazier Hall. Hamilton will discuss his artistic process and the bond he forms with his subjects鈥� life stories. Since its founding in 1995, Bellarmine鈥檚 Veritas Society has offered exceptional educational experiences to members in the Louisville area aged 54 or older.
