Bellarmine graduates rise in the healthcare ranks

Two Bellarmine alumnae who have focused on providing accessible and affordable health
care, particularly for seniors, have been promoted to top leadership roles in their
companies. Susan Diamond 鈥�95, who is also a Bellarmine Trustee, is now president of
the home-business segment of Louisville, Ky.-based insurance giant Humana Inc., and
Debbie Landers 鈥�02 MBA was named the first woman CEO in the history of Briye, a health-care
company based in Nashville. Diamond 鈥�95Caring for members in their homes has become a major priority for Humana, which controls
roughly 18 percent of the Medicare Advantage (MA) plans in the country. That led to
the company separating the home business segment from clinical and pharmacy solutions
businesses into its own unit and promoting Diamond鈥攚ho joined Humana in 2006 as a
strategic advisor and who was the company鈥檚 senior vice president of Medicare鈥攖o lead
it. Diamond leads Humana At Home as well as Humana鈥檚 home nursing and in-home assessment
operations, in addition to Home Operations, Humana鈥檚 transition management office
with Kindred at Home, which Humana acquired in July 2018 with two private equity groups. 鈥淔rom
congestive heart failure to diabetes, many of our Medicare Advantage members are living

and chief operating officer at Briye, which helps primary-care physician practices
improve the quantity and quality of their Annual Wellness Visit metrics for patients
