鈥淭he Bellarmine community feels a great loss and sadness with the passing of Madelynn,鈥 said Tim Sturgeon, Bellarmine鈥檚 dean of undergraduate admission. 鈥淪he was loved at Butler. You could see that through the recommendations we received when she applied. She will always be a part of the Class of 2025, and this scholarship will allow us to remember her.鈥

Madelynn's family shared this message:

"Madelynn was the definition of an ideal role model. She could instantly light up any room just by walking in it, and made it even brighter when she smiled. Madelynn was hardworking, determined and kindhearted. She would put everyone鈥檚 needs before her own, which truly showed how she was as a person.

"Ever since Madelynn was younger she truly enjoyed helping others. As she got older, this passion grew more and more which quickly led to her wanting to become a nurse. Madelynn had several different options when it came to colleges, but Bellarmine always stood out to her and became her dream school. Madelynn was working towards all her goals by maintaining her good grades, having two jobs, and still including time with her family and friends."
