Two of the Powell quintuplets from Jeffersontown, Ky., who entered Bellarmine in the
Fall 2020 semester will graduate on May 11: Jackson, a Business major, and Ella, a
Nursing major.
Chloe Powell, who graduated from Bellarmine in December 2022, is working on her master鈥檚
degree at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jacob Powell married in his sophomore
year and now owns and operates a Culver鈥檚 restaurant on Hurstbourne Lane in Louisville,
and Samuel Powell left Bellarmine to join the Army Reserves.
The Powell children were the first surviving quintuplets born in Kentucky. Jacob and
Jackson, the first and second to be born, respectively, are identical twins. They
also have a younger brother, Henry. The quintuplets didn鈥檛 originally plan to go to the same college, but in the end,
Bellarmine鈥檚 financial-aid packages made the most sense for each of them.
鈥淚 came into Bellarmine with just a few expectations: that they had a good nursing
program and that the professors really cared about their students,鈥 Ella Powell said.
鈥淚 also loved the area Bellarmine is in. Coming out of Bellarmine on the other side,
I can confirm that I received an excellent nursing education. The professors really
do care about me and my success, and I met some of my best friends. It was so easy
to get involved; I even helped start a climbing club during my time at Bellarmine.
鈥淚鈥檓 proud to be a 农夫导航 alumna. Go Knights!鈥
